Best of the Net nominees

We love all of our contributors, so choosing just six to nominate is a little like asking a parent to choose their favorite child. Well, okay, maybe not quite that extreme, but you get the drift.

Below are our nominations for this year's Best of the Net anthology, but really, we'd nominate all of you if we could.

Contributor News: Djelloul Marbrook

Djelloul Marbrook's second book of poems, Brushstrokes and Glances, will be published by Deerbrook Editions in December 2010. These poems are about painters, paintings and museums. His first book of poems, Far From Algiers, won the 2007 Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Prize from Kent State University and the International Book Award in 2010. His novel, Artemisia's Wolf, will be published next year by Prakash Books, India. His short story, Yo Sheherazade, and a poem, Bowl of Petals, will be published in Orbis 152, UK. The increasing popularity of e-readers has given his 1999 novella, Alice Miller's Room, published by Online Originals, new attention.

You may browse Djelloul's book, Far From Algiers, his new website, and his new video The Flutes of the Djinn. His story Artists Hill was Literal Latté's fiction first prize.

You may also peruse his mother's art, Juanita Guccione, his aunt's art, Irene Rice Pereira or have a look at his blog.
