My poems often reflect my responsiveness to landscape, especially the natural landscape of the area around Lake Erie, where I have lived most of my adult life. Yet I don't feel myself especially at home here. I was brought up near New York City, mostly in suburbs (which I dislike). I yearn for mountains and feel most comfortable in small cities.
