My Return

My return will occur like clouds that thicken and grow heavy,
then burst into rain.

How the air will take shape between the drops of my body falling—
sentences of a love letter written at last.

A tree enters the eye because the bird
hops from branch to branch, connecting the dots.

I will be again with the world I love,
where the palm lifts its hand in the wind

and brings it down like a blessing.
