Place is at the center of my work.  I'm someone who likes to be uprooted and transplanted.  I like to look at a new landscape, a new city's rich history from the perspective of an outsider.  At the same time, I can't get the landscape I was born to (Northern California) out from under my skin.  This poem is about Mount Tamalpais, the mountain just across the bay from San Francisco.
