About "What I Would Want to Know": I chose to write this poem because I was wondering what the clothes Sappho wore might look like, how one would put the clothes on or take them off.  The clothes one sees on the Peplos Kore at the Acropolis probably come close to what Sappho might have worn. It occurred to me that undressing someone would have have to be "researched," that there would be a great deal of mystery in the process.  It is a poem from The Islands Project: Poems For Sappho that will come out from Red Hen Press in Spring 2007
