I'm not religious in the traditional sense, but seeing Michelangelo's Pieta in Rome was an artistic/religious experience.  The Renaisssance statue was the most beautiful work of art I'd ever seen.  Writing about it from memory, I began to see more levels in the work.  My poem is, in its own way, sculpted.
